Honda MBX125

The Honda MBX 125F was produced between 1984 and 1985 and featured styling closely aligned to the VF and CBX models of the day. The spec was high featuring a liquid cooled single cylinder engine producing 12 bhp (for the UK learner law) with a top speed of 72 mph. It had Honda's latest Pro-Link rear suspension, comstar wheels with a then fashionable 16" front with a bikini fairing and belly pan, it certainly looked trick compared to its contemporary's of the day. Unfortunately the Honda couldn't quite cut it performance wise in restricted form against the RD125's (that were easy to de-restrict) and only lasted 2 years before being replaced with the Italian made NS125F that learnt heavily on Honda's racing success. For other markets the bike boasted a 22 bhp engine with ATAC power valve.

Honda said, "Feast your eyes on the MBX125F, a world leader for sparkling sports-styling and proven road safety. From its aerodynamic handlebar mounted bikini fairing to its racing contoured seat, from the lightweight ComStar wheels with dual piston caliper front disc to its flexible 2-stroke liquid cooled engine with balancer and 6-speed transmission, everything tells you that this is the peak of MBX achievement."
